Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How did you get my information?
A: Most ORI surveys use public voter registration records in each state to select a random sample of people to survey. Based on contact information people provide when they register to vote, ORI sends invitations to people to participate in surveys.
Q: Are you allowed to text me without my permission?
Under Federal law you are protected from being texted by a fully automated system. ORI texts are not sent using a fully automated system, but rather used a method called peer-to-peer texting that has a live person involved in the process. If you wish to be removed from any further texts this company sends, please reply to the text or email with the word Stop.
Q: I am on the Do Not Call List. Why would I get a text?
The Do Not Call List only applies to sales calls. ORI studies are fielded for research purposes only and will not be used for any sales purpose. We do apologize for bothering you and if you wish to be removed from any further texts from ORI, please reply to the text with the word Stop.
Q: How do I get off your list?
We do apologize for bothering you and if you wish to be removed from any further texts or emails, please reply to the text or email with the word Stop.
